Hope to never need it but nice to have it.
With all the craziness in this world I thought it was time to protect my family, so for Xmas I built out a couple nice plate carriers for my wife and step son. I did Shellback Rampage 2 plate carriers with all manner of pockets and pouches for each of their needs. I didn’t realise that the front drop pouch could accept soft armor, when I realised this I looked around at other brands but due to the unique clip corner design I went with the Shellback IIIa soft armor. Do they really need it; IDK, it’s not like they are going to be getting into a fire fight however I sleep better knowing I did my best to protect my wife and kid.
Pros:
- Made to fit the Shellback front flap
- Good craftsmanship and the reviews for their IIIa armour is good especially for our our application.
Cons:
- Nothing I can find, it seems to be a well made piece of kit.
Best Used for:
- Anyone looking for a little more front protection.
- Giving yourself piece of mind knowing you did all you could to protect your family.
