My review is strictly on appearance not on function. Bought 2, my wife thought it to be to long according to guidelines we had read. Went to local store , read other manufactures guidelines ,paid twice as much for one approx. 4" shorter. The biggest differences are the weight, the diameter, and the drip rings. The Shoreline marine paddle is a little heavier with a thinner shaft, but it does have foam grips that the more expensive model does not. The drip rings might be my biggest concern, although,again, haven't used them yet, just a comparison, they are stiffer and not snug on the shaft, don't know how important that is. The drip rings also are the opposite direction from other paddle, cupping side facing in as opposed to out, don't know if it matters. Just a comparison.
