223 64 grain and wild hogs
I was having some issues with 55 grain and saw a video on a game hunter in helicopter using the Sierra 223 gamechanger ammo. Decided to give it a try and have now had 2 successful hunts using it!! I use a Pulsar Thermion XG 50 (great optic) aim just behind the ears in neck area and this round drops them. Jan ‘23 hunt got a 175 lb sow and 250+ lb boar. Put the boar down with one rd and since he was so large added another while he was down for good measure. Next 2 night single shot with a 150lb boar and 125lb as well. Previous hunt another large 175lb boar 2 shots just for good measure and and a smaller boar as well. Before using the cheap 55 grain I’ve seen them run off or go stumble and then run off. Also changed my aim point from shoulder to neck. Staying with Sierra 223 64 grain gamechanger!
Best Used for:
- Wild hogs, Coyotes, Home Defense.

Excellent Ammo. One shot one kill on whitetail. Never took a step at 100 yards. 1/2 inch 3 shot group at 100 yards from 16 inch barrel on ar15. Didn’t recover bullet and can’t comment on expansion. Bullet placement is the key to any shot.
