Art's Review of Sig Sauer TANGO MSR Compact 1-6x24mm LPVO 30mm Tube Rifle Scope, Second Focal Plane
I bought this based on listed weight on all of SIG's press kit information that went tout to dozens of review sites. If you actually check their website, it lists the weight as 26.5oz, with mount. If you take off the mount, it weighs in at 18.5oz, pretty much the same as the non compact model. I thought maybe they sent the wrong one, but it is 8" without the caps (add ~1" for caps), so it matches the compact footprint.
As usual, SIG is playing fast and loose with facts and data. I haven't seen a single review with a correction so I doubt SIG bothered to send out a corrected press kit, hoping, I guess, that nobody would notice the brick when they pulled it out of the box.
Was expecting a 14.5oz lpvo at this price point wishful thinking? Yes. But that's what SIG told the world it was.
At $300 on sale, it's probably comparable to every other 1-6 made in china. No real reason to buy this over the competition unless you need short but don't care about weight.
