Sig P229 40 S&W to 357 Sig
The barrel is a true drop in conversion from 40 S&W to 357 Sig. No additional fitting or modifications are needed. The gun runs great with barrel with no malfunctions. The sights on the P229 40 S&W will put the 357 Sig shot group slightly lower at 15 yards but it is easily corrected.

California Sig p229
Have to remove Lci on slide to use in California p229. Is it just me or is there some special barrel that I have to get for my California P229. There's absolutely no way I can see this working without having to remove the loaded chamber indicator and file it down towards flush but it will leave a g...

357 SIG ORIGINAL BARREL
I own a Sig P229R Equinox in 40cal/357 SIG and decided to switch to 357 Sig mode. The difference was quite noticeable when shooting 125 gr hot loads from two different reputable manufacturers, one rated at 1475 FPS and the other one at 1545 FPS. If you shoot a lot, I recommend you get an extra barrel to have it handy in case you notice shooting patterns that could be associated with barrel wear. The same goes for recoil springs. I switched to a 21 lbs spring. So far I haven't noticed anything that may indicate a need to use either the spare barrel or the spare recoil spring, but it is good to know that you have spare ones in case you need them.

Original SIG part
I ordered a 357 SIG barrel to go in a Sig P229. Best pricing by a significant amount, shipped immediately. Couldn't ask for more from Optics Planet! Customer service lady on the phone went out of her way to help.

SIG SAUER P229 Barrel, .357SIG, Blued
I own 2 SIG SAUER P229 40s. I wanted a .357SIG. Brought this barrel, swapped it out of one of the 40s and voila! Easy-peasy replacement! The .357 uses the same magazines as the 40. Just be careful NOT to mix up which mags are 40s and which are 357s. I used a highlighter marker to clearly note which is which. Great purchase. I highly recommend this product even if you own only one P229 40. Just swap out the barrel whenever you want to shoot a different caliber.
Pros:
- easy assembly
Cons:
- None so far
Best Used for:
- saving $$$
Would recommend: Yes
