Most Helpful Positive Review Scar rated
After removing a trijicon acog I added this sig bravo 5 to my scar 17s, have ran 1200 rounds to date with no issues. No movement from zero. The prism scope has been great for focusing due to me having astigmatism in both my eyes. The reticle is clear and easy to read. What I like most is the field o...

Most Helpful Negative Review No lens covers forthcoming
This is the email response I received from Sig Sauer when I contacted them regarding the lack of lens covers or a scope cover. "Regardless of what the manual says, we do not make lens covers for the Bravo 5. Sorry about that." Trent Oleszczuk In my opinion the optics are nice, the scope is well...

I like it!

by Sua Sponte, Verified Owner from MO, United States Written on November 8, 2023
I'm overdue for an eye exam, but I could compensate with this optic. Eye relief is short. My nose almost touches the charging handle. Field of vision is great. Clear and flat. Heavy, but tolerable. One more thing, delivery was quick with no problems or delays.

Not what I expected

by Tom, from AZ, United States Written on October 28, 2023
Very short eye relief, even mounted all the way back I have to collapse the stock almost all the way down. Illumination is ok in the sun. Visible for sure but not super bright. The reticle is pretty nice though.
Pros:
  • reticle
Cons:
  • eye relief
Best Used for:
  • Maybe an SBR where your wanting to have the stock collapsed anyways.

Good out of the box.

by John, from AK, United States Written on February 2, 2023
I put it on my gun and it was hitting the target right out of the box without adjustments. Has a good sight picture. Unfortunately it is the only part on my gun made overseas but the price was right. The illuminated sight makes it easy to shoot with both eyes open.

Not worth buying

by AJ, Verified Owner from VA, United States Written on December 30, 2022
I was very excited about this optic, great FOV and awesome reticle/glass clarity. When I took it out of the box the top pic rail was loose and then fell off. Very cheaply made with apparently zero quality control as to be expected due to it being built/assembled outside of the US. Screws have very threads to hold an rmr. Could’ve been a great optic if not for these issues and the weight. 1.5 lbs of chunky, but it does balance well on a 16in imo. Hopefully Sig can fix the qc shortcomings. Thankfully Optics Planet has stellar customer service/support and I was able to get a refund
Pros:
  • Reticle/Glass
Cons:
  • Weight, lack of quality
Best Used for:
  • A boat anchor/book end, another reason to buy US made optics

no go on SIG’s SIG SAUER Bravo5 5x32mm Prismatic Battle Red Dot Sight

by Lordduddy123, from AL, United States Written on August 19, 2022
Yep!

This SIG SAUER Bravo5 5x32mm Prismatic Battle Red Dot Sight is the heaviest block of depleted uranium! Yep! This SIG Bravo5 optic has got to be the heaviest in the market today. It’s 23-25 ounce SIG! More than a fifty y/o cold-war POSP Russian optics. Seriously it changed my 7 lbs M-400 into a boat anchor! SIG SAUER what are doing? Please contact the engineer department SIG. Please change the material specs and contact corporate sourcing you have in Asia to make changes. Primary Arm, Vortex, and Holosun are beating you badly on QC and customer demand.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • fishing

Impressive!

by Limpygunner, from KS, United States Written on July 1, 2022
Got the Sig Sauer Bravo5 just over a year ago and since then I have been impressed by this sight. In short its tough, holds its zero and has a great field of view. I have used both Acog's and the Alcan specter, and in that would put it very close to the same level as them. Love the MOTAC feature on the bravo5. I have not been gentle with this sight and it has been so good that I replaced the Acog on my primary rifle with this that is how good I think this is. Best applications for this are mid to longer ranges but at a pinch can be used close range.
There is one drawback its heavy.
If weight is not an issue for you then I would strongly recommend this sight for the price (I got it on sale just under 300) I think that it cannot be beaten.
Pros:
  • tough
  • Build & Price
  • MOTAC (Motion Activated Illumination)
Cons:
  • Heavy
Best Used for:
  • Hunting 10yd - 300yds
  • Target shooting

My Heavy Masterpiece

by Alex, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on June 19, 2022
Got this on my 6.5 Grendel. The reticle is barley bright enough for the Nevada sun, so it's totally fine in most conditions. Even without illumination, the FOV, glass quality, crispness of the reticle, even the fact that I can use the pic rail to mount a Romeo Zero on top, all add to the overall greatness of this optic. This is my favorite optic, and it pairs nicely with my favorite gun. It's a heavy boy, though, so hit the gym if you want to use this fantastic bit of kit.
Pros:
  • FOV, clarity, illumanated reticle, warranty
Cons:
  • weight
Best Used for:
  • Your Favorite AR

This is first and foremost a scope, not a quick acquisition sight.

by Colfaxian, Verified Owner from CA, United States Written on June 16, 2022
This is a scope with a lighted reticle. Eye relief is about 3 inches and you have to search for the image, just like a regular scope. The advantage over a normal scope is the wide field of view, which is really great. I hope Sig Sauer applies the wide FOV to their other scopes. Since you have to deal with the limited eye relief and sight image, it kinda sucks that you only get fixed 5x magnification. And even though it is a fixed magnification scope, it is really heavy. The housing is aluminum, not magnesium. Personally I would prefer it NOT have the 3 picatinny attachment points. I tried taking them off, but it looks awful. There are bumps extending out under each rail and the screws don't go back in flush; the screw head sticks out. Most "red dot" scopes have multiple reticles to choose from. This has only one and to be honest it's not that great for precision aiming with 5x magnification. I wish it had the normal dot, circle and dot/circle reticle options. Really like the auto on/off for the lighted reticle. You can also switch between settings to turn it off, but it's not really designed for that (no positive click). As others mentioned, there is no way to put on a front lens cap. That's lame. At this price point it should include built in lens caps. Not sure this is going to stay on my AR.
Pros:
  • solid construction
  • Glass clarity
  • wide field of view
  • Shake awake lighted reticle
Cons:
  • weight
  • eye relief
  • No front & rear caps
  • poor reticle for 5x magnification
  • non-selectable reticle
  • slow target aquisition
  • No green reticle option
Best Used for:
  • medium sized target 50-150 yards

Incredible field of view

by g, from SC, United States Written on March 30, 2022
I have had mine about 1 year and am still amazed at the FOV and exceptional clarity edge to edge. Very accurate with super fast mid and long range acquisition. It is heavy for a prism, but very durable and holds zero even under harsh conditions, all of them, hot, cold, wet, dirty dusty you name it. I had Optics Planet coupons and got a great deal. You could spend 3 to 4 times the price for an optic that is lighter, but the FOV will not come close and you will not be getting better glass. You can take the 3 rails off to save weight. Great product.
Pros:
  • FOV, clarity, mounting hardware
Cons:
  • a little heavy
Best Used for:
  • everything

This works great

by Davey53, Verified Owner from OR, United States Written on February 23, 2022
I like this optic. The reticle design is great. The optics are clear and sharp. Can be used illuminated or not.
The only drawback is close in (out to about 25ft, the magnification is a bit detrimental I got a small laser to add to the rail right in front of this optic for close in work which works great, resolved the issue and is a great enhancement. This Optic looks right over the top of the laser with no problem.
It is a bit on the heavy side, but still very manageable.
Pros:
  • Crisp sharp optics
Cons:
  • a little heavy
Best Used for:
  • 25 to 100 yards and out
