Not worth the money
I did not realize this sight was bottom battery fed pain to install and has plastic lens going to get the rail adaptor plate and run as a spare on rifles would not recommend for pistol.
Not User Friendly
Maybe it's just my purchase, but I would not recommend this Reflex.
The on/off and brightness button is buried in the scope, right up against the glass. Maybe this is common, but I have not seen it. I can't just use my finger, I use an alen or screw driver and when I try to use my finger, I just smear the back of the lens.
And it does not want to turn off. Hold it for 2 seconds, 3 seconds, 10. If you get lucky it will turn off. The problem is, the lowest setting is so dull, you mistake it for off. Then a few hours later when you get home to clean up, it's on. Not user friendly.

Optic went on easy, no problem. Haven't sighted it in yet, that's the reason for 4 stars and not 5.

I bought this as I though Sig would make a decent budget optic, but I was completely wrong. First off, the red dot has an issue where it can get stuck in the upper right of the window and no amount adjusting will change this. I learned that after calling into Sig and getting one of the most rude customer service representatives I have ever interacted with, who then hung up on me. After this I followed the instructions from Sig, got the adjustments working again, and lo and behold the optic seized again. After this I decided to take the optic off, but the screws they used have red threadlock on them so I have to take it to a gunsmith. Don't waste your money, just buy a better optic.

Solid optic, holds zero
I've put about 400 rounds through my shield plus performance center and the zero is held. The dot is so crisp that I can see it clearly without my glasses and my slight astigmatism. I'm not going to knock this because you have to remove it to replace the battery, I knew this before I bought it. The only thing that's a little difficult is consistently pressing the adjustment button. It's in an awkward spot that if you put your finger too far in you just leave prints on the optic. Overall, I knew what I was getting in to and I'm very happy.

Good Micro Dot
Really, this is my 4th micro dot from SigSauer and all are working and with no issues at all. About the metal protector, with or without you can easily zeroe it with the tools and screws that came in the box

My old farsighted eyes turn this into a scope, and the boss( my wife ) loves hers. She feels a lot more confident shooting her sig 365 micro

Don’t waste your time
First off my review is based on product alone OP customer service is phenomenal!!! Absolutely no complaints there!!! As far as the optics, i’d call it a paperweight, but that would be an insult to paper weights second one in a row that I received. It just absolutely would not zero. first one I received wouldn’t lineup correctly. The second one I received the dot didn’t move at all, no matter how much I adjusted windage and elevation the SIG Romeo five red dot is a great one to have and the SIG LPVO’s are a great choice but thier micro red dots are as useful as a screen door on a submarine

The Sig reflex red dot appears to be well built great brightness settings. Easy to install. The only gripe i have uis the placement of the on and off switch and brightness control is very hard to reach for my fingers, I use a key to cut on and off.

Love this red dot, is slick and low profile excellent for canted sight.

Will not hold zero.
I have several Sig optics. This is the second one I purchased from Opticsplanet.com. this red dot is useless unless you like losing zero every time you pull the trigger. Don't buy it unless it's for a pellet gun.
