Most Helpful Positive Review Sig Romeo 8T
Good clear large FOV glass and super tough body and shroud. The MOTAC works perfectly when left alone for two minutes. Just move it and the reticle comes back on. 4 different reticles with 8 brightness and 2 NV modes. REALLY clear reticles and dot and smaller than it looks in pics. The torque mounti...

Most Helpful Negative Review Great until it crashed out internally!
Off to a great start with the sight. Great glass with open view. Problems started around 700 rounds when it would intermittently turn off while firing. I would have to shut it down and turn back on. Sometimes wait a few minutes for it to even turn on. I cringe at the thought if I ever had to use it ...

Exceptionally rugged optic

by Mark L, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on January 28, 2026
This optic is a heavy duty, robust optic with very clear high quality glass. While it's larger and heavier than many alternative red dots, you get a lot in return for the added weight. The CR123 battery gives you excellent battery life. The large window provides an unparalleled field of view. The reticle is bright, and you can easily use this with both eyes open in most any lighting condition. You have multiple options of reticles from which to choose. If you are looking for rugged and hard use, this is a good choice. If you are trying to minimize weight, you probably want to look elsewhere.
Pros:
  • Clarity
  • rugged
  • field of view
  • reticle
Cons:
  • weight
  • cost
Best Used for:
  • duty
  • hard use

Sig Romeo 8T

I’m very impressed with this optic. First of all Optics Planet had this as an open box and it was priced great because of it. As far as open box…..it looks brand new. I thought this sight would be much larger than it actually is. Compared to a vortex uh1 it’s more narrow and feels lighter. 4 reticle to choose from and they are all crisp. Comes with lens caps and a kill flash and really clear glass. I was very impressed so I picked up one in black as well.

Tank of a Sight

What's not to like built like a tank and very clear window. I like this more than my Eotech mainly because I can switch to different reticules.

Amazing price for an amazing red dot

by Lt. Deh, Verified Owner from MD, United States Written on January 21, 2026
I am extremely happy and thankful opticsplanet was having the sale they did. I've been meaning to get this red dot on my Spear LT pistol since I saw GarandThumb have it on his build for a couple years now. When I saw the sale and it was $300 less than what it normally was I immediately bought it. It has been a perfect sight for close to far-ish range, due to the dot in the center followed by the mill dots below the center main dot. Thank you optics planet for these sales because as we all know the "gun-game" is expensive and accessories like this red dot, especially by sig, are usually super expensive. I will be buying from you all again and again. Thank you guys!
Pros:
  • Only pros absolutely no cons. This sight looks perfect and is heavy duty and waterproof.
Cons:
  • non
Best Used for:
  • Combat and nothing else....throw it at your enemies and it will still do the job

Great red dot.

by Aaron, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on September 13, 2025
The flip up front cover does come off with a bit of force.
I thought it would break, but it held up.
Put a couple pieces of black electrical tape on the body under the flip up and gently, with constant pressure, pry up.
It on there extremely well, as you don’t want this piece just falling off.
If you are going to use the supplied honeycomb flash killer, note that there are grooves on it.
Place these on the top edge on the window first and then press the lower corners in place.

Good luck.
Pros:
  • well made
Cons:
  • Difficult to change out flash killer
Best Used for:
  • Shooting aminals like prarie dags and hogs

Extremely Blurry

by Ty L, Verified Owner from KS, United States Written on February 1, 2025
Optics Planet must have got a bad batch because the 1st Romeo8T the red dot was extremely blurry and unusable. Read through the entire manual to make sure I wasn't missing anything but besides inserting the battery and flipping up the caps there's nothing else needed to be done to utilize the red dot. Sent it in for an exchange but the 2nd Romeo8T had the same issue, albeit maybe a little less blurry. I had to call Sig to warranty the item and now I'm waiting for that. Not necessarily Optics Planet fault but for such an expensive red dot, especially one being used by the military this was extremely disappointing. I'm hoping Sig exchanges it for a new one instead of fixing it making it refurbished.

strong, rugged, and versatile

by md2bkobe, Verified Owner from LA, United States Written on November 28, 2024
This thing built like a tank having had in the past I was skeptical this lives up to the hype. Extremely irritable as a crisp reticle have multiple reticle options make this a no brainer. it holds zero very well.

Built like a tank

by Mark L, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on November 6, 2024
The good: Clear glass, extremely robust build, long battery life using CR123.

The bad: It's pretty heavy. Also, I have astigmatism and the reticle appears a bit blurry/smeared to me. That's my eyes and not the optic BUT there are other much cheaper optics where the reticle is far more crisp and clear to my eye.

If you want a red dot optic with great quality glass that is extremely rugged - this is it.
Pros:
  • long battery life
  • rugged
  • clear optics
Cons:
  • weight
Best Used for:
  • hard use
