The flip up front cover does come off with a bit of force.
I thought it would break, but it held up.
Put a couple pieces of black electrical tape on the body under the flip up and gently, with constant pressure, pry up.
It on there extremely well, as you don’t want this piece just falling off.
If you are going to use the supplied honeycomb flash killer, note that there are grooves on it.
Place these on the top edge on the window first and then press the lower corners in place.
Good luck.
Cons:
- Difficult to change out flash killer
Best Used for:
- Shooting aminals like prarie dags and hogs

Optics Planet must have got a bad batch because the 1st Romeo8T the red dot was extremely blurry and unusable. Read through the entire manual to make sure I wasn't missing anything but besides inserting the battery and flipping up the caps there's nothing else needed to be done to utilize the red dot. Sent it in for an exchange but the 2nd Romeo8T had the same issue, albeit maybe a little less blurry. I had to call Sig to warranty the item and now I'm waiting for that. Not necessarily Optics Planet fault but for such an expensive red dot, especially one being used by the military this was extremely disappointing. I'm hoping Sig exchanges it for a new one instead of fixing it making it refurbished.

This thing built like a tank having had in the past I was skeptical this lives up to the hype. Extremely irritable as a crisp reticle have multiple reticle options make this a no brainer. it holds zero very well.

Crisp reticle abs it’s built like a tank. Multiple reticle options and well worth the money considering other options out on the market.

The good: Clear glass, extremely robust build, long battery life using CR123.
The bad: It's pretty heavy. Also, I have astigmatism and the reticle appears a bit blurry/smeared to me. That's my eyes and not the optic BUT there are other much cheaper optics where the reticle is far more crisp and clear to my eye.
If you want a red dot optic with great quality glass that is extremely rugged - this is it.
Pros:
- long battery life
- rugged
- clear optics

This red dot is built like a tank and has super clear glass. It's the heaviest non-magnified optic I've used. I have a slight astigmatism and so I am very picky about red dot optics because the dot can appear to be smeared or have a starburst appearance. This optic isn't the worst, but it isn't the best for my particular eyes. It's certainly workable and not a show stopper. Again, that's more about my eyes than the optic. If you are looking for durability over weight - this is what you're looking for.

Installed it on a Spear LT and the glass is real clear and crisps dots. Unfortunately I had to send it to Sig because the dimmer button made it brighter and brighter button made it dimmer

Bought two back when they were only $525. I have one on a Gen 1 Galil Ace 5.56, it’s amazing. Sold the other. Wish I didn’t.

I was hesitant at first but I went ahead and checked this out. It’s probably one of the clearest optics I’ve used so far. The dots and donut of death are unmatched in my opinion and I’m extremely satisfied with it. Flip sights are my only gripe but other than that it’s worth your money.
Pros:
- Durable, clear glass and reticle
