It would lock up and only turn less than 1/2 of what it should. I returned it. The second one did the same. I called Sig and they told me it was defective and suspected Opticsplanet send me the same defective item back again.
The third sight did the same thing. This time I decided I would use parts from my old sight and put them on the new base. After disassembling my old and new sights I saw how they work. Turns out Sig sends the sights so tightly assembled, the parts that should move independently are locked together.
If you buy this product and the diopter does not move easily and locks up (it should turn smoothly and have one click per 1/4 turn) then hold the diopter in place and turn the elevation control to the left/"down" until they are no longer stuck together.
The front sight is a pain also. I think the roll pin was too big. It shouldn't take that much effort to hammer in a pin.
