Sig Sauer SBX SBX-AR-FDE
A definite improvement over the first generation Sig Brace, the SBX is less bulky resulting in better asthetics. Compared to the 1st gen brace it is also lighter, but still weighs 8.72ozs. (substantially heavier than other comparable options)
Fits well on both my Vltor A5 and KAK pistol buffer tubes (very tight fit with no play/movement while shooting). When using as designed (with arm inside the brace), the SBX works well with one handed stances, However, if a two handed stance is utilized, top mounted sights become awkward/difficult to align. If you intend to use the arm brace in a two handed or "squared off" stance, 45 degree off set sights will solve this problem. It is my "opinion" that before buying, you should also research the ATF letters regarding the use of this brace and use it accordingly. That being said, this brace is surprisingly comfortable to shoot. The tactile feeling is somewhere between plastic and rubber resulting in a solid non-slip cheek weld. In regard to the color; the one I received is on the darker side of the FDE spectrum. More brown than tan, close to Cerakote H-235 Coyote Tan.
