Long range performance very disappointing - SIG SAUER Kilo2000 7x25mm Laser Range Finding Monocular

I needed a replacement for my ten-year-old Bushnell, one capable of ranging to targets at least out to 1000 yards. I was disappointed. This one could not do large trees beyond 700 yards. A large white pickup truck at just over 1000 yards would "hit" only ~20% of the time. A large cluster of cell tower antennas (easily subtending the full beam, lots of surface, no background clutter) at under 700 yards would "hit" less than one time out of twenty. Big buildings, no problem. Its small size compared to the old model is nice. But for my purposes, this fell far short of expectations.
