I purchased a Nikon Monarch 3000 stabilized recently and was disappointed with it's performance. I exchanged it for a Sig Kilo 2000 and am satisfied. The Sig can pretty reliably range grassy hillsides to 1,100 yds or so and thick trees a bit farther than that. I was able to get some greater than 2,000 yd returns on reflective targets like 5th wheel campers but it is very hard to hold steady for that sort of range. I tested with a Leica 1600B and got the same distances so I am happy with it's accuracy along with it's distance capabilities. It is also much quicker to return a distance than the 1600B and about the same as the Monarch 3000 stabalized. The rangefinder is actually a little smaller than ideal. It can be hard to hold it and hit the range button without shaking it around. A larger size for man hands would be nice. The image quality/glass isn't great. It is good enough, and probably determined by price point, but it is noticeable when switching back and forth with even inexpensive binoculars. With all that being said, I don't know of another range finder with similar performance for a similar price at this time. I would choose this rangefinder again.

Excellent rangefinder. Very clear glass and durability. Have ranged out to 1000 so far, and at closer distances it seems to be within a half of a yard or less accurate. Also, has a nice angle cosine indication for long range shooting/adjustments. Very happy with this tool.

I was initially going to order the Kilo 850, which has great reviews. But some noted the black readout on that model was difficult to read. Fortunately, Optics Planet had a factory demo of the Kilo 2000 available, so I snagged it instead.
I am glad I did. The red display is easy to see against nearly all backgrounds, and the rangefinder is easy to use, fast and accurate. The controls are well-placed and the manual is well written. I really like the Kilo 2000.
Pros:
- Fast readings, easy setup, great optics

This is a sweet little, accurate, long range, range finder that I couldn't pass up for the OP sales price. Compact, easy to use, clear optics - what else can I say - does exactly what I need it to do.

Unbelievably accurate and durable, gets banged around on the range all the time and then ya pick it up and Boom... shoots targets to the yard/meter instantly and always Dead on the Money!!! Gives you accurate angle modifications on the fly and the reticle automatically adjusts for brightness depending on the environment, time of day, cloud cover, etc...
Pros:
- durable
- Clear
- Accurate out past 1500 meters
- Angle mods instantly
Cons:
- No Adaptor For Attaching to Tripod or Spotter
Best Used for:
- Hunting, Target Shooting, Golf

GOT THIS TO REPLACE AN OLDER RANGE FINDER. THIS IS QUICKER AND BRIGHTER AND WORKS VERY WELL. I AM PLEASED WITH IT. THE ONLY PROBLEM IS THAT THERE ARE NO DIRECTIONS IN THE BOX OR WITH IT. THIS IS NOT THE PRODUCTS FAULT BUT DOES REQUIRE YOU TO PLAY WITH IT A LOT TO SEE EXACTLY HOW IT WORKS. A BOOK OF WRITTEN WORDS WOULD BE HELPFUL.
Cons:
- LACK OF WRITTEN DIRECTIONS

I wanted a rangefinder for long range shooting that would not break the bank. Have gotten readings on the hill behind my house in the mid 1600s (yards) on light colored areas. Ranged a stand of green trees at 800 and a house at 1200. Simple to use and display easy to read. Would be nice to have attachment for tripod but that's the only downside I can think of.
Cons:
- No tripod attachment point

I purchased this product and when I received it everything seemed to be ok with the packaging.. but after opening the box and removing the rangefinder I found that the unit would not range at all. it would go through all the functions and screen options just fine but it would not range. I contacted sig and was told it would be 8 to 12 weeks for repair. I then contacted Optics Planet and I was able to return my original rang finder FREE of charge and I received a replacement unit 14 days after sending in the broken one.. Since then I have used the rang finder several times and it seems to work ok. I can only range furred targets and trees out to 1100 and I have had no problem ranging reflective targets out past 2000. I have had a few moments when the unit seems to not power up, by simply removing the battery cover and reinstalling it the unit will work again.. possibly some dielectric grease and things mite be more consistent.. all in all im a little gun shy about the unit working consistently but time will tell I guess.

I have received my Sig Sauer Kilo 200 and could not wait anymore to test it right out of the box. This is a beast : it acquires distances in a very high speed with great accuracy and repetition. Do not buy anything else !!
Highly recommended.

- Hunting, long range shooting
