Isaac's Review of Sig Sauer Tango MSR LPVO 1-6x24mm, 30mm Tube, Rifle Scope, Second Focal Plane

The positives to this LPVO are that it’s very affordable, it comes with a mount, it has torque specs for easy simple installation.
The glass and reticle are very decent at this price point and I think it’s very easy to use and adjust for sighting in.
THE CONS:
Now, do your own research, look through a bunch of optics. Try them out at gun stores, see what you like. That being said, I hate this LPVO, the throw lever is so tight and sticky I feel like I’m gonna break or bend something when I move between magnifications, the eye relief is terrible in my opinion, it’s very particular about head and cheek placement which isn’t very Ca$h money while you’re training with different variables or different environments. It takes much longer to get a good sight picture where the eye relief isn’t doing something weird, in comparison with a variety of Vortex and Primary Arms optics around the same price point.
The illumination dies pretty fast so it kind of eats batteries.
But by far the very biggest issue with this optic is the issues it has with water.
I never submerged or abused this scope in deep or rough water, I only did some shooting exercises on a day where we got rained out. After it rained I wiped everything down and put my gun back in its case with a silicate pack to absorb any left over moisture. The optic is now super blurry and slightly fogged inside and there’s nothing I can do to remedy it. I tried to properly dry it out and clean it up but it’s now horrible to look at and use. In my opinion, any fighting rifle or weapon set up for general utilization should hold up to at least light weather and some unfortunate circumstances.
I’ll probably take this off and put it on my kids 10-22 because it still works and isn’t totally horrible. But for the sake of a decent AR or sub 400 meter carbine, just save your money a little longer and try out some other scopes that feel really good to you on the single power setting.
Pros:
  • Very Affordable
  • Easy to mount
Cons:
  • Not Weather Proof
  • bad sight picture
Best Used for:
  • That 10-22 your kid is learning to shoot with
