Most Helpful Positive Review Factory Demo
I did not plan on using this Sig Oscar 3 very much so opted for a reduced price Factory Demo unit. Downside was:no batteries, no instruction manual or owners man. However, the plus side is a simple to use 10X20 30mm compact spotting scope with image stabilization! I have Sig red dots and A Tactical...

Most Helpful Negative Review Like looking through a toy from a .25 vending machine
Shame on you Sig. the stabilization works but the optics are so bad it makes me wonder if any of you have even peered through this junk. I wished to use this as an alternative for a bulky spotting scope when sighting in rifles. I returned it for a refund. Dont waste your money.

Manage your expectations.

I purchased this without being able to get my hands on one IRL. Looking at all the data and reviews online it certainly seemed to fit my criteria for what I wanted and I'm happy with it, but you must manage your expectatios. As a start this is a sub $500 optic. It's not got the best glass you'll ever look through but it does punch above its price tag in quality. Don't expect to be reading small print books at 200m, but identifying an animal or person and such at extended ranges (700m+) should be easy. What helps an absolute ton is the anti shake feature which I had doubts about before purchase but does work well and helps a ton. Especially considering the small size and lightweight of it which are both impressive to me as well as to folks who I've let test it. The controls are intuitive and work well. The fabric case it comes in is garbage. You'll definitely want a different means to carry it.
Pros:
  • Durability
  • Lightweight
  • small size
  • Price to quality ratio is great
  • controls easy to use once clearly understood
Cons:
  • Mediocre glass, tight eyebox at higher magnification
Best Used for:
  • hunting
  • Range
  • Birding
  • Tactical use
  • nature viewing

Cons:
  • stability - but the price is low

Works well

by Dylan, Verified Owner from SD, United States Written on December 6, 2020
Used for deer hunting, worked well especially if your trying to stalk and you may not have a solid base and the stabilization works great. The only issue I had was the power button is pretty odd. It's very easy to bump on, and it's not super solid, you can put it in a position that is neither on or off, and it will make a mechanical gear sound. It has pretty solid optics, works and looks just as good as my athlon Argos 6-24x scope at 20x even better in low light actually. Not going to get much better for 400$ at 20x.
Pros:
  • Price
  • Image Stabilization
Cons:
  • Power button
Best Used for:
  • hunting
  • Spotting
