Sig Tango MSR 2-12x44 rifle scope.
This review is only a bench test. I’ve not yet shot with it.
First off let me say for the price this scope packs a big punch, soooo many goodies come with it.
This is one chunky heifer, it comes in at 28oz without the mount. But that is to be expected considering the bell & barrel size.
The dimensions listed for this scope are incorrect. The bell is 44mm not 40mm, all the better for light gathering IMHO.
Correct dimensions are 44mm objective(bell), 34mm tube, 2-12x.
My intended use is on a SPR rifle.
- General build: Beefy, robust, but I'm not going to do any drop testing to prove th...

Great scope for the money
I recently purchased a the Tango MSR in a lower power, loved it. Then bought this big bad boy for my AR10. Stays on target, easy to adjust for drop, windage, etc. Big, huge primary lens for looking into the night. The only drawback is the eye relief is touchy: your eye is slightly too far back or too close it's like looking down a pipe. All scopes do this, this on is just a little touchy, easily overcome with a good set-up.
Pros:
- Price, big primary lens
Cons:
- Touchy on the eye relief
Best Used for:
- Evening/Dawn shots
Would recommend: Yes

Punches Above
Sometimes you come across a scope that doesn't cost a heck of a lot, has lots of great features and just fits its role really well.
This is that scope!
2-12x40 MSR has VERY good glass for the money, it reminds me of the Bushnell LRTS 3-12 optics, which to me, was an amazing piece of glass with good turret setup.
Lets talk illumination for a bit, some manufacturers to make illumination work, thicken the reticles just a bit ... not here ... its a great setup.
I will knock Sig for using such a low mount, it really needs to be 1.5" ... so if you are getting this for a semi-auto platform, prep to get a higher mount.

Great DMR Budget Optic
This is a great budget optic for an AR15 DMR style build. The reticle is simple and not overly complicated. The illumination works well. The glass clarity is good. The only downside is the mount it comes with is very low.
Pros:
- Price
- Glass clarity
- illumination
Cons:
- None
Would recommend: Yes

Great Scope
Great scope high quality. Glass is very clear, the scope is heavy. Not a con but something to be aware of if you are going for a light build. The 2x12 is perfect for what I was looking for. The 40mm with a 34mm had treated me well in low light. Only complaint is the mount for the scope is kind of low for me. That’s just a personal preference and even that is not a big deal. Highly recommend
Pros:
- Clear
- Bang for your buck
- smooth operations
Cons:
- Low scope mount
