StLPro2A's Review of SIG SAUER Tango4 6-24x50mm Rifle Scope

Glass quality is good...not great....for this price point.....especially on sale off MSRP and with added -10% from Optics Planet....makes a good value for some applications. Like the EBR-2C reticle in MOA....allows effective holds (versus dialing) without too much clutter as on a Horus reticle. Like the E/W adjustment dials...feel precise....audible and tactile feel. Zero lock functions well and like most other scopes....a minimum prerequisite...not a plus discriminator. Lockdown feature prevents unintended movement of E/W settings....a positive. Luke warm to negative on gray color.,,,no perceived benefit, and distinct mis-match with all my rifles except one of my Barrett MRADs (titanium gray), which I would never put a middlin quality scope on. Per Sig web site specification: both Elevation and Windage have 52 MOA/15MRAD total adjustment....not much for a 30mm tube. Definitely would put a 20MOA mount on rifle even in conjunction with an existing 20MOA built into rifle rail to get about 101MOA above optical center for some distance capability. Weight (26.9oz) and length (15.6") are about average for this class scope. Haven't performed Tall Target Tracking type evaluations yet. Going to use on .308 AR for out to 350yds deer hunting over a field and tree lines.
Pros:
  • Price point value for certain applications
  • Zero lock and turrets LockDown
  • Good value priced off MSRP and with OP -10% discount
Cons:
  • color nothing positive
Best Used for:
  • medium range hunting
  • PRS shooting on entry quality rifle
