Most Helpful Positive Review Better than Vortex and Leupold
Great Optic for the price would recommend this with the Hellfire Quad plex reticle over any comparable 3x9x40 Glass. Ive found the whiskey 3 to be very Durable and holds zero in every situation Ive put it through and thats a lot. I would recommend for any Rifle in 556 or similar ammo ballisticly. Fa...

Most Helpful Negative Review Not awful for the price, but boy it's not good, either.
Horizontal parallax on this scope is atrocious. At least +/- 5 MOA each time you get a cheek weld. I don't have another recommendation, but I'd keep shopping around if I were you. I'd return it if I could.

Nice glass

by gene, Verified Owner from OH, United States Written on October 29, 2023
I picked up this SIG SAUER Whiskey3 3-9x40mm Rifle Scope 1 inch Tube, Second Focal Plane for an AR build using a 24-inch heavy barrel in an attempt to beat a friend at the range. So far, I noticed that the glass is as clear or clearer as any of other scopes and is a breeze to sight in.

Illuminated Scope

by Gary, from MI, United States Written on March 17, 2023
I've recently purchased four illuminated scopes to replace existing scopes on my rifles. The illuminated dot in the center of the reticle makes all the difference in low light conditions and old eyes. The Sig Sauer Whiskey version is my favorite. When my grandson went hunting this year, he asked to use Grandpa's rifle instead of his own. The reason, "that red dot tells me where the bullet will hit". His 7 point buck proved him correct.
Pros:
  • High quality for the price. The illumination control
Cons:
  • May need extension rings depending on the rifle.
Best Used for:
  • low light deer hunting.

Worth way more than you pay for

by Blake, from OK, United States Written on December 29, 2022
Now, I realize this is a bargain-priced scope, so you can't compare it to a high dollar, long range optic. However, this thing excels at what it's intended to do: put rounds where you want them. The glass is crystal clear and even allows you to hunt a little later than you might think due to the excellent light transmission. It is every bit as sturdy as my Leupolds and other scopes costing 5x what this one does. It holds zero on magnum rounds as well as bouncing around in my UTV. Sig gave me much more than I paid for, as is typical in my experience.

One nice bonus - Sig will laser etch a custom BDC reticle for your round of choice and your holdover days are done. If you're worried about what you get for this price; don't.
Pros:
  • Sturdiness
  • clarirty
  • Features & Value
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • hunting

High quality scope at an affordable price

by Whitetailgal, Verified Owner from NY, United States Written on December 14, 2022
I have two of the hellfire quadplex models, each mounted on a CVA accura Mr-x. This scope has great glass that performs well under all lighting conditions. The illuminated reticle is fantastic, allowing quick brightness adjustability to fit any hunting scenario, whether your target is 50 or 200 yards out. It was very easy to mount and sight in. Eye relief is comfortable enough to withstand sessions of target practice without causing any related eye fatigue. They have both held their zeros through many days of being tossed around on hunting trips, just need a quick sight in before the season and you're good to go. The glass is comparable in quality and crispness of vision as my much pricier trijicon accupoint. I would highly recommend this scope for any gun if you want an affordable, reliable, durable and accurate scope for hunting.
Pros:
  • Glass quality, great reticle, multi distance target acquisition, battery life
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • hunting

3 fingers of Whiskey will do.

by Purenergy71, from WI, United States Written on December 5, 2022
I purchased this scope earlier this year, mounted it on my Savage Arms Ridge Hunter .308, bore sighted it, and took it to the range to sight in at 100 yards. After three, 3 shot groups with Remington Core Lockt tipped 150 grain, and a few clicks of adjustment, I was pleasantly surprised and impressed to discover that I had shot a 1 moa grouping with all 3 holes within a half inch of bullseye. Glass clarity is exceptional considering price point. Any quality product manufactured in the USA will continue to receive my business, Sig being no exception. I will be purchasing more scopes from this company. Thanks Optics Planet for your great customer service and support. Cheers ❗️
Pros:
  • Best bang for your buck.
Cons:
  • None
Best Used for:
  • Confidence

Very disappointed

by Richard, from VA, United States Written on December 30, 2021
Worst parallax I’ve ever saw in a scope , big time disappointment. Taking it back to see if the store will exchange. They all can’t be like that . I think I just got a lemon . I got the scope mounted and went to bore sight and cross hairs were all over the place .
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • Terrible parallax
