Best Night Scope for the $
Thinking about buying a 2nd one of these, and after reading other reviews and comments, I have found my experience to be different. In so have decided to leave my own review. I bought this a year ago, during which time customer service and shipping times were oth great. But those have nothing to d...

Not impressed. Returned it
On a very dark night I could make out my white fence 25 yards away with the original IR illuminator. I could not see trees 50 yards away. My barn with security light was much clearer with the naked eye. I did not upgrade the illuminator, I returned it. I am told the Hog Hunter IR is required to make...

excellent lower cost night vision optic.
The 1st one I received was DOA or I would have given it 5 stars but Optics Planet quickly replaced the optic. New one charged and worked as expected. Display in the optic is very clear. It is very easy to make out items and details in the dark.

Great Scope
For the price, you can't beat this scope. With the stock IR light, you can identify deer roughly 250 to 300 yards away. If you add a better IR light with it, its like daylight almost. I will be buying one for my wife later on.

First time
So far all is great. I have not hunted yet but it's on my 243 AI and a touch low at 50. Optics planet always has the best deals

Good night scope paired with a bad IR illuminator.
I purchased this nightscope after using a friend's Sightmark Wraith that was not 4k. I have upgraded my illuminator since. The ir light that came with it was barely enough to see 150 yds. If you are into recording everything the 4K is fine but, if you just want to hunt, get the cheaper light and put your money into a good IR illuminator. It does what it is supposed to. A good value for the $$.
Pros:
- Decent scope, one shot zero, memory for multiple guns.
Cons:
- Poor IR light, very busy platform.
Best Used for:
- Predator hunting

Saves your zero on 4 different weapons
A friend let me borrow their older Sightmark NV scope (SM18018) and I was hooked. After looking at many different models, I decided this was the best value for the reliability and I'm happy with my decision.
With the supplied IR illuminator, I can easily make out objects out to 100 yards so far, but I decided to purchase an aftermarket illuminator that uses rechargeable batteries. I've seen where people have used a single 17670 (also known as a Pila 168 S) in place of the 2 required CR123s with success and maybe I'll try that later on.
The features of the scope are nice. You can use the scope in the day or night and it even gives the option of the NV in green if you don't like it in black and white. The image is very clear after you focus it for whatever zoom level you have it set on. You can change the value of the digital zoom to your liking, which makes it zoom in a little at a time or very quickly. It has the option to use different animal scales to approximate your distance so you can adjust for elevation. And my favorite feature is that you can save the zero on 4 different weapons, including my crossbow.
What initially sold me on this scope was reading through lots of reviews for many different NV scopes and this one seems to be the most reliable. All of the other features, including ones I didn't list, are a bonus to that selling point. Make sure you charge it fully and update the firmware when you first get it.

Sightmark wraith 4K max
As I recently purchased this new scope I do have high expectations, although it’s too soon for me to form my own judgment but so far so good. My first complaint is that it took several attempts to reach someone at Sightmark directly, when I did communicate with their staff they were knowledgeable, considerate and polite. My second minor complaint and I was told this by others prior to my purchase was to buy a better IR light, which I did. At night time I can see we’ll over 400 yards in daytime I can see approximately 800 yards. Well I hope this is enough info for now, lastly I would encourage anyone in the market to buy a Sightmark Wraith 4k
