Idonno's Review of OpticsPlanet Exclusive Sightmark LoPro Mini Combo

First I'm not giving this 5 stars because its the best laser light combo out there, I'm giving this 5 stars because its the best laser light combo for the price. I'd much rather have a Steiner DBAL but this only costs $149 not $1,000-$2,000. Right now my priority's lean more towards getting a bettor optic for my AR rifle so I can put my MRO back on my AR pistol. I tried the previous version of Sightmarks LoPro Light/Laser Combo but every time I tightened the mount to the directed specs (45-65in pounds) the mounting screw pulled out of the cheap plastic body cracking it and rendering it useless. After two I gave up. This has a robust metal (Aluminum) body so that is no longer an issue. This one doesn't have caps (or nothing at all) over the adjustment knobs but like some DBAL's the body rises up on either side to protect them. The adjustment knobs give a nice audible click when moved, The laser is bright, The light is sufficient but not a battery killer and over all this seems to be well made. My only gripe is the external switch. It screws in and seems to be quality made however it's functionality is extremely limited to the point that I find it useless. You have to set your laser and light to what you want on the units main body first then the first press of the external switch which will turn everything off and each subsequent press will momentarily turn back on what you had set. The switch will only turn on what you had previously set while you are holding it down. There is no setting to make things stay on until you press it again. The external switch has two buttons, you would think that one would be for the laser and one would be for the light. Unfortunately that's not the case both do exactly the same thing. Fortunately this thing has separate switches for the light and laser on both sides of the main body that work very well. With the exception of the very poorly implemented external switch this seems to be very well made (time will tell) for the money which is why it sill gets 5 stars from me.
