Tygus's Review of Sightmark Mini Shot Pro Spec w/Riser Mount

As soon as the unit arrived, I asked a competent Melbourne gunsmith to install the unit on the Glock 34 that I use for IPSC competition.

He showed me how, when mounted parallel to the slide of my Glock 34, the gun shoots 25 centimetres (just under 10 inches) high at a distance of 7 metres. With the vertical adjustment screw already at the limit of adjustment (the point at which it could turn no further), the vertical adjustment screw could not move the gun’s point of impact lower than that.

By way of contrast, he then mounted a Docter 'C' sight on the gun, and he showed me how the Glock 34 shot to the point of aim, and how the point of impact could be adjusted up, down, left and right.

Together, we have considered the possibility of modifying the mounting base to correct the Sightmark's discrepancy. Unfortunately, that job will cost more than the price I paid for your red-dot sight. (My gunsmith proposed fabricating a special mount that will raise the front of your red-dot sight by 4 to 5 millimeters. He says that it should work properly if this is done.
Pros:
  • Low cost
Cons:
  • Could not be zeroed
Best Used for:
  • Gunsmith training
