I really wanted to like this scope. Digital night vision devices are usually cheaper and I like the contrast of the digital images. I used this scope with an Evolva T 20 IR light which has a lot of good reviews,so I really don't think that was the problem. I was very disappointed with the range of the scope. I would estimate it to be about 75 yards. The picture was also very grainy.I think it would be very difficult to make out something as small as a coyote. You can forget about scanning and trying to find something, especially if there is any undergrowth around.I sent it back and Optics Planet, as usually was very helpful. However, there is some good news.I think if you are stationary and hunting a clean field or hunting a feeder within a limited range, this would do just fine. Within fifty yards, I thought this was an amazing scope for the money.
