Grendel man's Review of SightMark Wraith HD 2-16x28mm Digital Night Vision Rifle Scope, 50mm Tube, Second Focal Plane (SFP)

You can see clearly in the day vision setting and know what your aiming at @ 100 yards unless it's a target for sighting it in. I was going to use tis on my 6.5 Grendel for coyote hunting but when I tried to sight it in @ 100 yards I couldn't see the bulls eye marking and tried to zoom it in but at a 4X it was a fuzzy orange dot instead of red and I couldn't even make out where the 4 smaller target spots were. I have not tried to sight it in any closer then that as of now but I will try it at a 50yrd setting next time. I did put this scope in front of a 3-9x24 and it helps with the distance clarity issue at 2X and 4X but it dose take away from your over all range of view. As of right now the Night vision setting is what's making this scope worth having for night hunting if You can see well enough to sight it in. I will add another update once I get a chance to sight it in. As I said in my last review, this is my first Day/Night scope and maybe it's me and I'm just not figuring all this out on my own right now but as they say(practice makes perfect) and I will keep trying to figure this Wraith out as I go. Maybe I will use my other scope in conjunction with this Wraith to help out with the 100yrd sight in. :)
Pros:
  • Close distance shooting
Cons:
  • Poor magnification
Best Used for:
  • Night time hunting
