Best eye relief so far
Biggest problem with magnifiers like this have too short of an eye relief. This Sightmark XT-3 has the longest yet ... And it's much appreciated. I've scratched more than one pair of shooting glasses with magnifiers with much shorter eye relief (2"). This cost me about 3x more but the quality of the...

Better to save for a Vortex if you can
The glass has some distortion and it's tricky to focus, at least on the example I received. Its not as if it's a piece of garbage, It's usable, but if you can swing twice the price for a Vortex 3x or a Sig Juliet it is worth saving. Sent mine back and saved up for a Sig. I'm happy I did.
Excellet Magnifier
I mounted this on my Bushmaster AR15 Quick Response Carbine and mated it to a Sig Sauer Romeo 5 red dot. Works really well. Being able to go from 10 yards to 100 yards with the flick of the wrist is amazaing.

SightMark XT-3 Tactical Magnifier
SightMark really drop the ball with this magnifier, I just received the magnifier and SightMark Ultra Shot A-Spec Reflex Sight SM26032 in the mail upon setting it up I had to keep on moving it up on the rail to get the right eye relief. Was not impressed, the locking latch sticks out so much I can not charge my AR-15. Why they have this locking arm sticking out so far is beyond me. The eye relief is very short, unacceptable for me. The mount is of good quality and flips to side very well with no wiggle. I would suggest they redesign the locking arm so it does not hang out so far from the body. I will be returning this magnifier.
Pros:
- Sturdy construction
Cons:
- poorly placed mount arm, bad eye relief

Has potential
I had previously checked out the XT-3 at a retail store while researching a magnyfier . When it arrived I was generally satisfied until I tried to mount it. While SightMark doesn’t claim this is a QD mount, mounting this device was very difficult. I assume others will likely want to transfer the magnyfier from one gun to another. Each time this would be done would be a tedious operation. The springs providing closure tension easily escape their tracks. I definitely would not attempt a swap in the field. If SightMark addresses this issue, I would consider the magnyfier.
