Most Helpful Positive Review Great Value for accuracy and duribility
This scope is as good as any of the many Leupold & Burris scopes I own , and for less than one third the price of the premium brands. I mounted this scope on a Rem 700 .300 Win mag and it has held up well and kept zero despite absorbing recoil from approximatley 200 shots on the bench firing heavy 1...

Simmons 44Mag 441124

by Jim, from FL, United States Written on December 17, 2017
Have hunted for 30+ years and have used other high end scopes. I needed an inexpensive option for this one rifle. For the money, I was surprised by the outstanding clarity, light transmission & quick field acquisition. Mounted it took it to the woods for an evening hunt. At dusk in a wooded dark forest when I had to end the hunt, the field of view at 100 yards had plenty of light and clarity to see clearly for assessments and dispatch. For the money, its a great scope.
Pros:
  • Clarity, light transmission
Cons:
  • No shade or mil dot rectile
Best Used for:
  • hunting

Awesome Scope

by critterslayer, from TX, United States Written on April 18, 2017
I got one of these years ago for my 22-250. Still have it on the gun, plus I just got my fourth one. I have them on a .17HMR,.223 AR and a .257 Roberts. The glass is clearer and sharper than any Nikon or Leupold in this price class and I have yet to have one lose zero from normal shooting. One or two have taken some serious hits that knocked them off sight a little, but a few minutes at the range and I'm back in business. The side focus in conjunction with the quick eye relief is awesome. Also, where most scopes are 1/4" @ 100 yd. adjustment, this is the only one I've seen where it's pretty darn close.
Pros:
  • Durability
  • clear glass
  • Optics Planet price
  • True adjustments
  • Side Focus, Quick Eye Relief
Cons:
  • None
Would recommend: Yes

Very good all around scope, got it at a good price, I love the easy adjustments and Matt finish. Very clear even at low light times of the day. I had no problem ordering it on website. I hope to save up and purchase a couple more for my other rifles.

by Choper, from CA, United States Written on April 9, 2015
I took a chance on this scope based on the sale price and prior experience with Simmons scopes. Placed on a Howa Supreme Varminter .223/5.56 for long range ground squirrel hunting. I am above pleased at it's clarity at all settings. I highly recommend this scope.
Pros:
  • Ease of use
Cons:
  • none... yet

The Go-to Scope

by Red, from FL, United States Written on February 16, 2015
I like this scope so much, I've got four (4) of them on different rifles. It is clear, Side Focus adjust to a sharp view at any range. The only thing is the side focus is not always correct at the yard's on it's dial. I still have to do that in my head.. For the price USD., you can not get a better scope at a higher price unless you are willing to pay 400.00 USD or more. I would recommend this scope to everyone. Thank you. Red.

Simmons new model 4x12 with side parallax adjustment .

by Kickin dirt, from WI, United States Written on January 10, 2015
Over all very pleased with what I see, my considerations for ordering this scope includes all the positive reviews I read pertaining to simmons scopes in general, this is my first Simmons all my other scopes are nikons the nikons are an excellent scope and I have no complaints about the quality my reason for wanting to try Simmons did include the price but more importantly the over all physical size of the scope. I love CZ rifles and fitting a rifle scope on a miniature mouser bolt can be fun the ocular lens on this Simmons is 3mm narrower than my equivalent nikon that means I do not have to modify my bolt handle to clear the scope ocular lens also having the side parallax adjustment vs the objective lens adjustment means I have a smaller slicker bell. I have mounted and bore sighted the scope but as yet not been able to go to the range -3 below here in wisconsin The scope is mounted on CZ 527 with CZ rings.
Best Used for:
  • longer range accuracy

For the money can't be beat

by David T., Verified Owner from NC, United States Written on December 21, 2014
A little slow as far as dialing in, but past that it is a great scope. Clarity and eye relief are very good. I have owned some older Simmons scopes and been satisfied, but with the 44 MAG I can see a step up in design. As I said in the title I think for the money it would be hard to beat.
Pros:
  • Clarity is great
Cons:
  • Dial in seemed a little slow

Simmons 44Mag. rifle scope

by decade, Verified Owner from TX, United States Written on December 12, 2014
I have used this product line for a number of years and have found it to be one of the best moderately priced rifle scopes available. This model gives enough power to really get in close and check out the target while still allowing the use of lower power for scanning. The light gathering with the larger 44mm lens is better than most other 40mm size scopes, and it mounts with med. high rings on most applications. I currently consider this to be my go-to for most of my rifle scope needs.
