I got this scope back in March of 2018 and it's been setting in the box since I got it. I did a cursory inspection when it arrived and it appeared OK. When I got ready to mount it I noticed a very disturbing problem. The glass in the scope was not ground properly. It's not noticeable at low power settings, but when turned up to the 18 to 24 power range it becomes VERY bad when attempting to focus on a small object like a target bullseye. Looking at a 1 inch dot at 100 yards, if you use the side focus on the dot, other areas inside the field of view are out of focus. If you focus on writing on the target just inside the field of view, then the crosshairs are out of focus on the bullseye. This scope is unusable for precision shooting and just barely usable for any target shooting.
Cons:
- not clear
- unusable for target or precision shooting

I mounted the scope (6 to 12) on my 44 cal Henry carbine for deer season in Ohio. The catalog description alluded to the 44 mag. It seems as though it may be too much for this rifle. I have a number of 3 to 9 scopes and thought this would work. It is a good scope as I can tell so far.(Only sight process) I was surprised at the magnification at 6 power during sighting in 50 yards. Due to mounts loosening to from the shock of recoil I have to redo the sighting in. It is as it was described, I am not sure it is best for my 44 Mag. I will try swapping it out with one of my other rifles.

It hurts me to rate this scope at 3 stars. At mags below 15x this scope will blow you away. Mine was so clear and bright it really amazed me. At power above 15x it started to distort picture sharpness from edge to edge and above 18x you didn't want to look through it anymore. Not because its so horrible but because the lower powers spoil you. Its side focus is nice and focuses nicely at closer ranges. The turrets are cheaply made but had no slop and was very positive in feel. If the scope would clear up above 18x this scope would be 10 stars when considering price. I am wondering if the 4-12 version has these issues.
Things I did not like was the focus issue. Outside this issue the only other thing is I did not like the mil dot reticle. I prefer md reticles but simmons is designed for lower magnifications so he dots are scrunched up in the middle. The center was fine enough for target shooting though.
I am hoping it was qc issue and that not all have the focus issue mine did. Its worth trying if this is in your price range. Worst case scenario you will have to return.

The clarity of this scope it fantastic. The slightly larger objective makes the difference, 44mm over 40mm when it comes to close range field of view. Image is clear thru the entire focus range, completely blows the Pine Ridge 6x18SF this replaced!
Being a Burris scope owner, Fullfield II and Black Diamond I wish the adjustment ring for power was a bit tighter, that would be my area of concern over time.
Pros: Quality and bang for your buck
Cons: Thin wall tubing

This is my 3rd Simmons Scope. Ever since I realized that it is the exact same as a higher priced brand name, I only buy Simmons scopes now.

Installed first scope on DPMS LR-308 and ater firing over 120 rounds there has been no shift in point of impact. I ordered two more and installed one on an AR-15 in 5.56x45 and the other on another AR-15 chambered for 7.62x39. Both performed to my expectations and satisfaction.
Pros: Side parallax adjustment, QTA focus, Sunshade, Adjustments track true, Long eye relief
Cons: Made in China - But what isn't?
