Good scope. One caution, I bought weaver rings that were suppose to handle a 40 mm scope but they weren't high enough on my Savage 93, had to go next size up.
Pros: clear, side focus really works well, seems well built
Cons: None
Although this scope is filling the bill for what it will be used for, it is not the scope of the year. It is very precise when it comes to where you hold your eye or head. It blacks out too easily with a slight movement of your head. It does seem to work as a distance shooter with the graduation ...

GREAT SCOPE FOR THE NEW SAVAGE A-17 SEMI-AUTO HMR 17 I USED THE LOW MOUNT RINGS THE SCOPE BARLEY TOUCHED THE BOLT COVER AT THE REAR OF THE SCOPE. I USED A SMALL STRIP OF 1/2 3M DOUBLE SIDED TAPE INSIDE THE BOTTOM RING THAT RAISED THE SCOPE TO THE PERFECT HEIGHT THIS WAY THE SCOPE STAYS CLOSE TO THE BARREL. THE PERFECT FIT!!! THANKS TO BRIAN IN CUSTOMER SERVICE HE REALLY KNOWS HIS PRODUCT LINE.
Pros:
Great Workmanship
Cons:
None

I purchased this scope for a 22LR rifle, not a 17HMR. It has a combination of power range and side focus, in addition to the high quality glass I have always found in Simmons scopes, that make it a very functional scope for any rimfire, and probably for an AR given it's compact size and magnification. The duplex reticle is sharp and has an adequately fine center wire. It is unfortunate that Simmons does not YET offer a ranging reticle similar to the DOA600.

Great value scope with very good optical clarity.
True to the advertising this is a great inexpensive varmint scope.
Clarity is great out past 200 yards. Easy to mount and sight in. It was almost dead on with the boresite when initially affixed in the mounts.
Pros:
Optical Carity and price
Cons:
none... yet
Best Used for:
Varmints

White base line marks on scope base are behind turret knob skirts.
Pros: Like product even with the turret marking.
Cons: can not see white marks on scope base for turrets.

This is a grate scope although really heavy. I put it on a 10/22 in 22LR because I wanted a 3x12 thinking I could just use the standerd turrent on it. I've never seen a turrent that is numberd backwards. This is no good in the field they have to fix this!!!
Pros: very clear and bright
Cons: can't get a 22 turrent for it, the elevation turrent numbers are backwards makes it hard to adjust in the field.

I set it up on a CZ 452 varmint and works very well. Only downside is magnification knob slightly too big and gets in the way of bolt handle at low setting. Other than that it works great and very clear
Pros: Easy to use and set up
Cons: Magnification knob gets in the way of bolt handle sometimes
