Most Helpful Positive Review Bought for Turkey hunting.
I bought this sight for turkey hunting. It was easy to mount and zero. It stayed zeroed too! I took 3 toms with it last spring. I have it now on a slug barrel that also stayed zeroed after 30 3" slugs fired thru it. It stays lined up when changing reticles too. I really like this reddot but I wish they would make it with camo. Dan Cole Pros: Multi-reticles, good price, easy setup, stayed lined-up, and multi-uses Cons: Play in multi reticle knob and no camo color.

Nice affordable red dot sight

The Simmons 851234C has a 30mm tube, so the glass is actually around 25mm. That size works out just fine for mounting and viewing on my Beretta Neos. The 4 reticles are a 4MOA dot, 8MOA dot, a crosshair, and a diamond dot. The website image is misleading because it shows a diamond without the dot. I bring it up because the dot in the middle of that diamond reticle blocks out your target.

I've only had one range session (today) with this newly acquired red dot from Optics Planet. It was easy to mount, easy to zero, not too heavy, and easy to shoot with. It has a green tint in the lenses that helps lower ambient light for improved red dot brightness against light target backgrounds. The reticles are brighter than a similar style Millet red dot.

This Simmons Red Dot is a good value for the money and is fun to target shoot or plink with. So far, I'm a happy customer!
Pros: Comes with rings, sunshade, lens covers, and battery.
Cons: The Diamond reticle is really a Diamond Dot reticle

best cost to quality value

by Legacy Reviewer, from WA, United States Written on March 23, 2009
It's no Aimpoint but it blows away any other cheap brand. This sight has the quality of a good Bushnell Trophy series sight but with the cost of a cheap NcStar. The sight holds true when you change your eye position very well, not as well as an EOTECH but for the cost you cannot go wrong. Sturdy and effective. The cross reticle is great to sight in different ranges while the two dot sizes adjust quickly for different light conditions.
Pros: 4 effective, good quality reticles
Cons: not an EOTECH or Aimpoint
