I purchased this but stock to complete a build of a 16" AR308 I built. During initial testing the recoil was enough to give my shoulder bruises using a standard CTR stock. When I swapped out the CTR for this stock the recoil became quite comfortable. In addition this unit has more adjustment range than a normal carbine buttsrock. I deducted one star because the finish is shiny .

Bought this for my Bushmaster .450. Fits wonderfully and looks great. Gave 4 stars because of this comment taken from the description on both Optics Planet and the Limbsaver website: "Designed as a drop-in replacement stock for AR-15/M4 A1 and A2 rifle stocks, utilizing standard rifle-length receiver extension buffer tube." Not true. This stock does not use a standard rifle-length buffer tube (Easily discernible for anyone with a basic knowledge of AR builds, but still misleading). You have to purchase a carbine buffer tube kit (either mil-spec or commercial) in order to mount. The product is the stock only. For the price they should have also included the quick detach swivels, but they are only sold separately.

The good? It earned a solid four, possibly five stars for the build quality and recoil reduction. I was a little apprehensive about it fitting both mil-spec and commercial buffer tubes, but it fits my mil-spec tube solid. Seems to reduce recoil as advertised. Def easier to reacquire target after each shot. It is a little larger than a normal adjustable stock like a Magpul, but still looks great.
