A ton of haters will try and steer you away, but if you want to read a positive review look here:
I like mine, no really, I do. For the price this scratches the NODs itch for me, and I don't care to spend anymore on any other type of I2 device. I've used PVS-14s (gen3) a bit, that's pretty neat stuff, but I didn't find them $2.5-4k "cool".. If you're looking to spend more than $2.5K on a NOD/I2,...

Poor clarity, poor battery life
Bought this as a supplement to help spot coyotes. It does brighten the ambient light significantly but the image is very grainy.. difficult to spot dogs greater that 30 yards or so even with a full moon. Battery didn't last more that 1hour for me. Pretty much useless. Poor customer service.
needs external illumination
if it is dark out with no moonlight, this unit is basically a paperweight, it just does not work as a night vision device. if you use an external IR illuminator, it does work pretty well but sionyx claims "moonless starlight night vision" but it clearly is not.

best Digital based ir device at one thousand
The sionyx pro is probably the best Digital NV at price at the expense of being ridiculous even if a military grade multi spectral ir camera that does it all was available your would be looking at much higher price point but since most multi spectral camera's are not available to general public or at 1k$ price point reality sets in Just buy the pro you will love it or hate it but if used in color at 70% moon or 50% or less Greyscale you can't go wrong and if you want to hunt wild boar just add a ir light also when ir light is added to kit you can extend your hunting into moonless starlight or push the frame rate past the recommended 30fps to 60fps and yes I will acknowledge that the pro says on the box moonless starlight capable don't expect this claim to hold up unless using ir the claim I think is based on sensor rating not current camera capability at least with current firmware and that's about it .great camera by Sionyx 4 star review

Pretty good
It's no replacement for a gen 3 NVG, but at 1/3 the price, I wouldn't expect it to be. It's pretty good if you are using active IR, so I feel pretty good about using it in place of a gen 2. Definitely moving the ball along in the quest for decent digital night vision.
