If you need a tackle box that will stop heavy weaponry, this tackle box is it.

Amongst a sea of inferior tackle boxes, this tackle box stands out!

Pros:
Tough tough tough.
Lock solid box. It's like opening and closing a mosler safe.
Voluminous! sort of.
Easy swap utility boxes.

Cons:
Lousy use of space.
1) The shelves that separate the utility boxes leave large open areas 3/8" to 1/2" all the way to the back of the box. Yes, it allows the utility boxes to easily move, but combined with poorly designed utility boxes it wastes far too much space.

2) The utility boxes are almost commonplace; but they are simple blow molded boxes with both fixed and adjustable dividers at specific distances. Very few of the slots fit anything well. The movable dividers always seem to move when least desired allowing hooks, wires, toothpicks, beads whatever to roam around the box making a mess.

3) The top of the box is substantial in size, yet the top will not hold larger gear; e.g. reels or even some filet knives.

4) The box is heavy! Plan to use a dolly or other wheeled equipment mover.

This is my first SKB and it's built like I expected, like a tank! It will be perfect for the shorter multi day trips where there's not always good spots for soft bags. I also love the rocket launchers which will give me a place to tie on lures or terminal tackle right where everything is. It is heavy though, that's both good and bad.

The SKB tackle box line-up is truly the last tackle box that you may purchase. The quality build and material mean durability and longevity. The size is significant, but it will accommodate all of the tackle for any fishing excursion. Oh, clean - up is a breeze thanks to the material - just wipe off and go!
