pretty good for the sale price
I’ve been throwing knives for years. I bought this set on sale for 50% off to teach my son. They are soft to prevent breaking the tips but a bit too soft. The balance is not the best but serviceable. These are fine and are functional. The axes are an odd shape for throwing but keep a similar turn ratio to the knives. My son is having a blast with them which was the goal so all in all I’m happy with the purchase. If you are a more serious thrower keep looking and spend more for a variable heat treat.

S&W Throwing Axes are Great!
Out of 3 different brands I have purchased recently these are the best. The weight and balance are nice and the three cutting surfaces make sticking these a breeze. I will be purchasing more of these.
Pros:
- sharp
- Balanced
- 3 Cutting Surfaces
Cons:
- Prefer a handle with less of an abrupt edge
Best Used for:
- Throwing until you have tennis elbow
