Snapzoom Universal Matte Black Digiscoping Adapter

Bought it based on an article about the developers in Hana Hou magazine touting the adapter to a binocular or telescope so that a cell phone could take closer photos of distant objects. It also hinted that it could be attached to a microscope for taking photos of really tiny objects. I've not yet tried it as I don't have a cell phone. I bought it thinking it might be usable with a conventional little digital camera. Not! The camera side of the adapter unit does not accommodate the extended lens of a digital camera; it's designed for the flat front of a cell phone where the lens does not protrude. I had hoped to use it with a digital camera to copy 35 mm slides -- if there inventors out there who can devise a similar adapter for a digital camera for slide-copying purposes, thee are likely to be a lot of folks who'd like that function.
The only "down-side" of purchasing this item on-line is that you get almost daily e-mail blasts from Optics Planet trying to get you to buy something else.
