Sog finally brought out a quality knife! - SOG Specialty Knives & Tools Seal XR Folding Knives

American steel, razor sharp, rugged, built like a Sherman Tank. Well built, unlike much of the cheap junk flooding the knife market. My Spyderco has been my EDC knife for nearly 2 decades, but I wanted to upgrade to a thicker grip and stronger lock. Well over 50 now (carried a knife every day since age 5), with a bit of arthritis... a thicker grip is FAR easier to use and much more comfortable to hold. Excellent cutting power and leverage. Absolutely 100% happy with this SOG, its a high end tool, well worth every penny. Sure, there are much cheaper knives available that will cut rope and boxes (even from SOG), but at the end of the day, one gets what one pays for. Comparing this Seal XR to a much cheaper, run of the mill 'mart knife, is like comparing a Glock to a Hipoint pistol. Buy quality and it will last. Cheap knives, made with poor quality steel are NOT safe. This Seal XR would make a superb Military / LEO knife, as it is not only a great tool, but also doubles as a last ditch, back up / self defense weapon. The steel pommel would easily break a car window in an emergency or during a rescue operation. Lots of jimping, which I like, provides a firm grip in rain or on a hot day. SOG nailed this one out of the park!
