Shot about 100 rounds through this upper yesterday. Ran smooth and without hickups. Ammo used was Frontier and Tula. In my previous review I noted the QC issues I observed. Most notable was the very weak staking job on the bcg. I did not see any issues with the first hundred rounds and will monitor the gas key for looseness. I would definitely recommend this upper despite the other mostly cosmetic QC issues. If you buy this upper check your BCG for proper staking. I bought an Aero BCG as a backup. I will say that I would like to see Spikes improve their overall quality control. Just do it Spikes!!! Great job to Optics Planet on price and shipping!!!

Great Price
Shipping was fast! I only paid $508 with three day shipping while on sale. Inside of the upper showed bare aluminum. The front post has a 2 mm cut on the bottom. The bcg is not properly staked and the finish is rough with visible toolmarks.Two very light dimples that don't touch the screw heads. I was disappointed that Spikes would let this pass through QC. I bought this upper primarily because of the quality barrel which is finished perfectly on my example. Not sure if Optics planet got a good buy because these uppers have flaws.
