Not what I was expecting for a barrel over 300 gas block would not go on had to buff barrel and sand to get gas block on. I was doing a spikes tactical build, so I tried to use mostly spikes products everything else is nice except barrel should’ve went with Geis or Daniel defense
groups well
This is a great item for any spikes build. Solid grouping strait out of the box. 1:7 ROT this bad boy punches out the same hole over and over. Very light weight. Looks great and cools down quickly. Great for my suppressor. You will not be disappointed with it. Perfect at 14.5”

Rust on gas bloc
Item arrived sealed in plastic but the gas block had rust all over one side of it. I have not installed or shot the barrel yet. Giving a 4 star review because of lack of quality inspection. Have several Spikes products and would buy again.

Pinned gas block loose tolerances
Got the 16” version with pinned gas block, and the tolerances of the gas block on the journal are looser than anything else I’ve used where I’m worried about a gas leak. Really had only seen good things online about these, so maybe it won’t be an issue, but seeing how the gas block and barrel are drilled together, it’s not like I can replace the gas block for something else. If there are any issues, one star or less, but if it runs fine maybe 3.

Spikes Tactical 5.56 Cold Hammer Forged Barrel with Gas Block
I installed this Spikes barrel (2A8-RTB-CHFMB-SB51606-MLG) on a Spikes upper and lower. It was an easy install, the barrel had a groove cut into it and the gas block aligned perfectly. I used a Spikes Tactical Melonited Gas Tube mid length (2A8-RGT-STMELGTB-SUGT0M3)it also aligned perfectly in the upper. I used a rise armament Nickle Boron BCG (2AL-BCG-RABCG-RA-1011-SLVR). I went to the range today to zero in my scope. I shot at 110 yards Bench rested and was able to shoot 5 round groups and cover them with a quarter. All of these items are 5 star. No feed issues or cycling issue either. Optics Planet has great offerings at good prices.

Excellent quality, light
This spikes tactical fn chf barrel with optimal profile is a great quality barrel. It's light weight as well as still super strong and also double chrome lined so you know it will withstand some hard training,target practice, fast shots etc, especially with binary trigger set. I've yet to do very long distances over 50-100 yards, but was very accurately dialed in near 1moa from first sight-in, happily surprised.

Cons:
- Milspec phosphate exterior coating could maybe eventually scratch n let rust easier if not oiled, maintained and kept away from too much moisture too long

- Target practice, home defense, hunting, tactical, training
