Got it with the purchase of a rifle.
I've had it for over a year and a half. I have changed the battery once when I first got it, the battery it came with died after 2 months. It came free so why not. The battery placement is odd but not an issue. It does last a decent amount of time. It's not that bad really. If I have to re-zero it e...

Poor Battery life, 2 months.
I got the Hex dragonfly with my Springfield XD-M elite compact in .45. I only kept it on when I had it with me, which is non-working hours only. I turned it off when I got home. Battery lasted just over 2 months. The problem is you have to remove the optic to install a new battery, which mean...

Best way to purchase Optics
The choices and price couldn’t be beat. Organized…shipped right away. This is my second one… highly reliable optic so far, previous is over a year old with several rounds. Was easy to sight at range…

Dragonfly dies
Came in. 3.8” XDM E. After less than 200 rounds the dot started dying every 1 to 10 rounds. Just contacted Springfield for a replacement, will have one for sale soon. Cheap.

- Cheap
Cons:
- Not dependable
Best Used for:
- None critical applications, plinking etc. But NOT a carry weappn

250 dollar piece of junk
Had for awhile rarely used. Recliner surfing original Frankenstein on. Gun falls off arm of chair hits soft wood landing. I cringe upon inspection to my surprise lens is shattered. I have many red dots this is the only one to have lens shattered! Optic was questionable anyways for poor operating sequences but glass failure it's junk. Thanks for nothing hex! I guess we know the real meaning of hex now. So far holosun with a button fail, vortex electric fail but had use...trijicon seems the winner.
Pros:
- Nothing
Cons:
- Inferior
Best Used for:
- trash

Good-to-Go
Newer to the red dot optic option so I'm not, by any means, an authority. I like the light weight and having a perfect fit for my XDM Elite. Exactly what I wanted and no issues to date. The only issue will be having to remove for battery replacement. However, if the battery life is as expected, it shouldn't be an issue although I will probably replace on an annual basis.

TIGHT SITE!
I was on the fence about buying a Springfield Saint Victor rifle. However, the dealer dropped the price buy $100 and thru in the Hex Dragonfly Red Dot for free. That sold me and I really like it; it was easy to mount and zero in on target!
Pros:
- Looks/works great, scratch resistant glass
Cons:
- None
Best Used for:
- Range and tactical applications

Not very Springfield-ish
I liked the look of this optic and chose it over a SIG Romeo, but wish I hadn’t. Mine is mounted on a Remington 870 with a full-length rail and no matter where I place it, the fishbowl is STRONG. Like, distractingly strong. It looks and feels nice but the function is a few years behind the curve. Maybe it’s better on a pistol (I don’t have an optic-ready sidearm to try it on).
