Story Time Dave's Review of Spuhr Stock Assembly for G3,MP5,HK33/53

This Spuhr stock is how to update your H&K 91 style rifle into a modern effective competitive type rifle. Like the Swedish AK4D. Or to improve any pines mounted HK type gun G3 HK 91,93,33, Cetme, c308 and so on.———I give the Spuhr stock five out of five stars because it just makes such an excellent improvement to the PTR 91 that I have. ——— These days I’m just more of a gun collector than any thing else, but I’d like to get back into running mine in two gun and three gun matches.———I’ve ran a South African G3 made under contract with H&K in combat in Afghanistan in 1981 and it ran flawlessly for the brief time that I was there.——— I first saw that Ian with In Range TV which I highly recommend you to watch (completely available on Full 30 and partially available on YouTube) had commissioned the build of a left handed H&K 91 type rifle with a Spuhr stock and handguard (available through Opticsplanet) making it into a updated semi auto version of Swedish AK4D. ——— The Swedish military are still currently using their AK4’s in the Sand Box of Afghanistan and other places around the world. The Swedish AK4 is an under license contract copy of an H&K G3 type rifle. In a project to upgrade them to modern standards a company by the name of Spuhr rengineered this Stock that this review is about to make them more user friendly with less felt recoil and with better handling abilities as the AK4D. ———I’m currently using the Spuhr stock with a Aim Sports extended full length handguard (available through Opticsplanet) instead of the Spuhr handguard (available through Opticsplanet) because of the cost and that the Aim Sports extended handguard has a M1913 Picatinny rail section ahead of the front sight so that with the use of a rail riser (available through Opticsplanet) I can mount a front back up iron sight. These days with the quality of modern optics like the HoloSun’s that I’m running (available through Opticsplanet) I’ll never really have a problem with the optic/ circle red or green dots that they offer other than, I’ve needed to make long range shots of up to a thousand yards before in compation. So in those circumstances I can remove my HoloSun with the use of the quick throw lever on the side of the ones that I run without any lose of zero when reinstalling (available through Opticsplanet) to use AR 15 style flip up sights adjustable for ranges out to 900 yards (available through Opticsplanet). ——— The Aim Sports full length extended handguard also has MagPul M-lock slots on it, to accommodate the use of MagPul M-lock sling attachments (5 stars also available through Opticsplanet) to Mount my highly recommend Larry Vickers Blue Force Gear padded Tactical Aplacation sling (5 stars plus and available through Opticsplanet) in between the intagraded sling mount on the Spuhr stock that this review is about (available through Opticsplanet) and the MagPul M-lock sling mount to the Aim Sports extended handguard for use in any conditions and in competitive shooting applications.———The cool thing with this Spuhr stock is that all it takes is the pushing out of the two push pins, after you mount it to your existing hardware, and like in my case I have some original H&K G3 wooden furniture/ stock and handguard for it and I can switch back and forth from the Spuhr stock to the original wooden G3 stock back on and with the removal of a hand full of currently Allen head screws I can put the original wooden G3 handguard back on in case I’m ever shooting an as original compation. ———The G3/ H&K 91’s are still in use in many countries around the world to this day. With the updated installation of these Spuhr stocks and handguards in a game changer in the felt recoil and ergonomics of these type rifles. The Spuhr stocks will fit onto any of the other H&K push pin type stock mounts, HK 91,93,33, MP 5, Cetme, C308 just to name some. ——— A brief history of the tipe in WWII Mauser made the MG42 with a roller locking system like used on the G3 variants, in 1945 Mauser made an improved version of MP43/44 later known to as the STG44, following the end of WWII the Cetme was made with that technology in Argentina and Spain, following the NATO agreement that all NATO guns of the time had to be in the same caliber as the M14, 7.62x51mmMauser now known to as Heckler and Koch H&K bought the Cetme rights from Spain improved on the design and made the HK G3.——— California notice , things here are constantly changing but as of today 01/20/2019, besides a shark fin and a muzzle break all you should have to do to to make this Spuhr stock compliant is zip tie the adjustment lever in place so that it is not adjustable after you figure out the length of pull that you want and before you install it on your gun and you might be good to go?———Protect the second amendment, support our troops, be safe, know your guns and be proficient with them, share your knowledge with other like minded people, watch Larry Vickers videos on full 30 &YTub and have fun.
