Functionality and beauty are in perfect balance in this amazing design. An elegant looking carbon fibre handle hides a relatively long slicer that can be flicked open instantly with ease. Thanks to the compression lock the blade just drops shut as quickly and easily as it opens - while the fingers are savely out of the way. I also love the pocket friendly shape, the wire clip and the weight. Compared to other popular Spydercos this seems more like high-end pocket jewellery and less like a form follows function hard use tool. There is no jimping for extra grip and the CF feels very smooth, so ...

A good EDC blade that doesn't chew up your clothes

by Bladeslut9001, Verified Owner from ND, United States Written on September 16, 2024
The scales are slick and there isn't any jumping, it's easy to wipe down but not great for hard use. It is a wonderful EDC that feels great in hand. It fits well in pockets.
Pros:
  • None
Cons:
  • It is a little slick. It has smooth scales and lacks any jimping

Truly remarkable.

What a looker... Outstanding build, unquestionable materials, Taichung factory. One of the finest Spyderco knives I own. I would say this, however- reverse flick access is tight, but manageable. With the “neck” of the handle as thin as it is in hand, I find it easier/safer to disengage the compression lock with my thumb, like a lockback to break the detente, then flip and close. Hope you love it. I do.

Great knife

by Pete, Verified Owner from MO, United States Written on April 6, 2022
Everything Spyderco does well they did to this knife. I have several $200 knives from Spyderco, Benchmade, ZT and some others around this price range. The fit and finish is perfect, the blade centering is perfect. The marbled carbon fiber looks and feels great, the red backspacer adding more visual appeal. The action was perfect out of the box, and "spydie flicks" with ease, compounding that with Spydercos compression lock, i have to say this is very Fidget Friendly. It supports spydercos wire clip which i like.

The only knock u could give this knife is the blade, s30v for $200 is kinda steep, and would usually expect some more high end steel, even tho s30v is prefectly suitable for most tasks. The blade shape is kinda odd but works well with the overall look of the knife. I prolly own 40 pocket knives from reputable brands and even tho thos isnt the most expensive, its my favorite.
