Nice try better luck next time
Sadly despite the military name, in their present form they are no good for military use.
Targeting can be tempermental as it does not respond well with certain target colors. No ARD and no Laser filters, both of which you would expect as standard on a Military product.
I hope Steiner will quickly address these issues. Till then I cannot recommend their their use as a military qualified product
Pros: Great build quality
Cons: Not suitable for military use

Rugged Long Range Laser Rangefinder
AWESOME RANGEFINDER! Easy to set up & use. The 50mm optics are VERY BRIGHT and gather plenty of light. Though not "night vision" these really allow you to easily see into shadows and under trees.
These are BUILT TO MIL-SPECS, meaning that they are built to take abuse. The rangefinder is not a TRUE MILITARY rangefinder, with the ability to adjust light frequency, selective filters, target painting, etc.
For this price ONE SHOULD NOT EXPECT to receive a military grade device.
Under clear conditions, the rangefinder works great out to 1600 yards. Under fog/mist conditions it can drop to 50% of the 1600 yard maximum.
Like any rangefinder, the laser does not always "read" off of the EXACT item you may be targeting. But, there IS ALWAYS SOMETHING next to your target that will be readable. This is especially true at the outer ranges of the device (1200-1600 yards).
Though pricey, they are well worth the price. Lift the binoculars to your face & you have your rangefinder on target as well.
A great time saver for that quick shot or when ranging targets for others.
Pros: Combines 2 devices into 1, great distance
Cons: Heavy
