Steiner 2.5-10x42 mounting woes - Steiner 2.5-10x42mm Predator Xtreme Hunting Rifle Scope w/ Plex S-1 Reticle

Steiner scopes are supported by Burris US Customer Service which is good. The scope quality is very good and the price was very good for this quality of scope. However, the very large magnification ring caused mounting headaches requiring either:a) using overly high rings on Browning A-Bolt(defeats purpose of a 42MM objective lens)or using on rifle with sufficient clearance on rear of receiver. I ended up using on a TC Icon. Also, Steiner does not honor rebates on demo units.
Pros: S-1 reticle, very good glass, great build quality
Cons: Large magnification ring causes mounting issues
