Not suitable for daylight use. - Steiner DRS 1x Defendu Reflex Sight

Sold cmy EOTech and purchased this optic for pistol caliber carbine competition. The large single dot for close fast shooting would have been ideal as a solution to the need to hold several inches high on close targets. Unfortunately these competitions typically take place during daylight hours. In moderate to bright light the highest brightness setting on this optic does not generate a functional reticle. Customer service informed me that the optic is intended for military and law enforcement and primarily for indoors and night vision. They neglect to mention this in their promotional materials. Its difficult to imagine the sight was purposefully designed without daylight capability. Every other feature is excellent. Sent it back but sincerely hope they fix what I think most users will view as a major defect. If and when they add daytime functionality I will not hesitate to buy another.
