Matt S.'s Review of Streamlight Double Clutch Headlamp

Amazing headlamp. Not the smallest or lightest out there, but that is not the role it was designed to fill. With both flood and spot capabilities at various lumen levels, you can get the exact amount of light you need without over doing it.

Since the unit can tilt, you can aim the light on your workspace or the path in front of you without having to look directly where you want the light.

The headstrap is snug and secure for all but the most rigorous activities. Controls are easy to use and fairly intuitive.

My favorite part is the battery configuration. The unit comes with a rechargeable battery pack (micro usb charger) but can run on AAA batteries so there really shouldn't be a situation where you can't find a power source.

I bought a spare battery pack so between 2 rechargeable battery packs and a set of AAA my headlamp is always ready to go the distance.

Used it camping, hiking, 4th of july fireworks, working on the car, etc.

Really awesome headlamp.

Cons:
  • Not Compact or Ultralight
