Streamlight Knucklehead Flashlight
I'm an industrial mechanic. I work in one of the largest plants in the USA.This light is very helpful putting light were I need it and in any position I need it now. The only draw back to the light is that since it's constructed from plastic some parts aren't up to the task. For instance: the plasti...

Great Light!
This flashlight does what Streamlight says it will do. It is well made, has great feel and finish, and a very powerful magnet. There are more ergonomic models for extended hand held use, (such as for hiking, for instance), but for "hands free" working applications, (such as working on a car in the middle of the night), it would be hard to beat. I highly recomend this light!
Best Used for:
- hands free illumination

Great worklight.
This is the second one of these I have purchased. The first couldn't withstand a 12 foot drop to the floor, but then it isn't designed for that. The light is very bright and can last almost an 8 hour day. It will go to "moonlight" mode when the battery gets low.
It does have a wide beam which I like. Provides plenty of light for under vehicle inspection or work. The articulating head really allows the light to be positioned just right and allowing two handed work.
The magnet is very powerful. So much so that the small screws that hold the back plate on tend to loosen as you repeatedly pull the light off a metal surface. Can't really pull it straight off kind of have to pry it using the body as a lever. Streamlight should really use threaded inserts and machine screws to attach, rather than coarse screws just screwed into the plastic. Mine flexed too many times and finally the back plate started to crack. Made a call to Streamlight and they sent a replacement. The thicker the steel the more it sticks. Hoods, fenders, and such don't pose a problem, medium and heavy duty truck frames, all I can say it wow. I actually forgot to get it off a vehicle once and it went down a very bumpy country road for a 15 mile test drive. Found it just where I left it 30 minutes later.
Make sure your fingers are out of the way when you get it near good steel, more than once I pinched mine. To help alleviate some of the pull from the magnet I just keep a zip tie wrapped around the...

Knucklehead
Best flashlight I've ever owned. I always keep it in my truck for everyday use. If I'm working on the bike or truck the magnet comes in real handy but it's the swivel head that makes it great for any application.
Pros:
- Brightness
- brightness level, stays sighted in, slick contoru fits holsters well

Worked great for 6 weeks...
I grew tired of buying those cheap LED throw-aways flashlights from Home Depot and decided
to make an "investment" in a tool-was fine for the first 6 weeks, but have now lost 2 modes
so I have to wonder if I now have a "cheap" higher priced piece of junk made, most likely in China...maybe one of these days the companies will grow tired of the quality that get for that lower off-shore costs.

Great all around flashlight
This is a great worklight. I own a number of Streamlight and Pelican lights(flashlight freak). The hook, magnet, twilight mode, strobe, etc. makes this great to have for work around the house, emergencies, and gifts for people who haven't prepared for the zombie apocalypse.
Pros: Magnet can lift a file cabinet - well, close enough
Cons: keep in office - everyone plays with it.

Very handy flashlight!
I'm a electrician at a lumbermill. A lot of our electrical breakdowns are in poorly lit locations. Almost always there is a metal surface nearby to stick the very strong magnet of this flashlight to. Much better than holding flashlight in mouth or having to wear a headlamp all the time. Much of my troubleshooting and electrical installation is done inside a cabinet or enclosure with a hinged metal door. This light is ideal for sticking on the inside of a cabinet door to illuminate equipment being worked on. Everyone that sees it wants one. Only changes that would be nice are maybe a more compact version. Can go through batteries too. Luckily the mill provides bateries otherwise I'd be forced to use rechargeable which aren't quite as bright but not bad. Little concerned about durability of swivel hinge on head. Has lifetime warranty so this is no big deal really. Should be about $45 in my opinion but still worth the price. After having one I will always have one or something similar.
Pros: Swivel head and strong magnet are useful for hands free inlumination.
Cons: Overpriced but majority of name brand flashlights are. Little bulky.

Knucklehead Update
This is an update from a previous review.
As I expected the powerful magnet (which is great) was too strong for the weak 8-32 thread screw holding it.The screw broke and I lost the magnet on the machine I was working on. Streamlight engineers need to come up with a retrofit replacement for attachment of this magnet to the body of this light. Please contact me regarding procedures to obtain a replacement magnet
Pros: bright light, easy to position
Cons: weak attachment point for magnet
