I am amazed that this little light puts out so much light, and has yet to use up the 1st battery. I have 5 other lights in this class all have rechargeable batteries or 1 AA size battery. The rechargeable ones will only last maybe 30 minutes most times less, so I have to carry two of them plus an extra AA when the rechargeable batteries fail. I work on large Boats for a living and am constantly poking around in Dark compartments, I have been carrying this light for the last 3 weeks and use it every day, and am still on the 1st AA battery. In the past I steered away from Streamlight because of the cost but I could have bought several of these for the money I have spent on the CHEAP ones. Best to buy the best first time and not regret it later.

Good that it uses AA batteries which is very important. Uses one AA battery that limits its power in the Streamlight 80322. Made of aluminum which is a big plus as well as using a C4 LED. Small size and easy traveling use is another plus. I have several flashlights that use the CR123 battery but wanted one that uses the common and readily available AA size.

Streamlight ProTac 1AA is a great every day carry size flashlight. Its easy to operate, light weight and durable, very bright and only takes 1 AA battery.
Pros: size, durability, brightness

As a small, super bright carry-light, the Streamlight ProTac 1AA Tactical Light is great. One firm press on the tail switch is all it takes. However, the strobe and low output settings are achieved by pressing the switch button twice or three times within split-second time limits, without doing it so hard as to latch it "on", or too lightly while working against a firm switch spring. It is difficult to do and usually takes me several tries to get it to set to strobe or low light. If those alternate settings are very important to you, I recommend stepping up to another model that has a separate selector switch.

The case has a velcro belt loop which can be used to attach it to anything small enough for it to encircle, like a wheelchair, a backpack, a purse, etc. It's a nice feature, along with the pocket clip. And who doesn't keep AA alkaline batteries available?

The AA battery, compact size, high output, rugged construction and price were major decision points for me to purchase this light. I would have rated it as all 5-stars except for the switch setting difficulty described above.

Great little light really bright,carry it with me every day.Like it using AA battery that are cheap and can be found everywhere.
