Tl-2 ir flashlight - Streamlight TL-2 IR LED Hand-Held Tactical Light

The description of the TL-2 made it unclear if this was a weapon light (mounted on a one inch diameter ring) or a hand held flashlight. It is a flashlight with about a 3/4 inch diameter battery tube, not the 0.9 inch described. It is a great IR flashlight! More lumens than competing weapon lights in similar price range (like Mite Core) because the LED is IR only. It claims to be useful to 200 yards but with a Gen3+ sight it is useful to 400 yards. It is so bright that it blooms out my Gen 3+ at close range but comes into its own the 7-10 nights a month going into and out of a new moon. I was able to adapt the flashlight to my weapon mount by wrapping two turns of skateboard tape around the handle and removing the retainer clip. I like the simplicity of the IR only light, just wish it had an adjustable focus to avoid bloom out and a one inch diameter handle. A small square of electric tape in center of lens reduces over illuminating field of view but the lens gets hot and the tape gets sticky. A mess to clean up but possible.
