Not for handuns... I purchased this for my AR-15. It puts out a 'laserbeam' style spot enabling it to reach and identify targets out to 100 yards. It also has a nice secondary flood beam good at close range. I didnt expect much out of 200 lumens but the (huge) reflector manages maximize the light output for distance. The reflector has its faults though, it can only be mounted at the end of a handguard with the reflector overhanging. On my AR this puts the reflector right behind the blast zone of my muzzle break. Leading to my biggest peeve... the reflector lens is plastic. The backblast not only coated the lens, it permamelted a line that looks like the hour hand of a clock once i cleaned it up. Still functions great and the light output is the same, i just recommend coating the lens with some oil or chapstick if it rests right behind the muzzle. Other than that, the light is great and light weight.
Pros: distance
Cons: lens
