Not what i expected - Streamlight TLR-2 HL G Rail Mounted Flashlight with Green Laser

The light is very bright. When going from complete darkness to using this as your light source, it might be uncomfortable. It definitely is for me. I would not point it directly at someone in total darkness as to ID them. You could hurt their eyes. The beam is widely dispersed, square in shape with the corners at 12 & 6 o'clock. The 200 lumen tlr2G (old version) I have, used to seem very bright. It has a perfectly round beam with a brighter focus in center & you could set the laser to strobe, in the Laser only mode. On the new model, the strobe only works on the light, the laser will stay continuous. The new tlr2 HL Green 520nm laser seems a little darker in color than the older version 535nm laser. Compared side by side, there is a bluish tint to the 520nm & more yellow in the 535nm laser (old version). This can only be seen in a side by side comparison. Because of the lighter color, the 535nm is perceived by me to be slightly brighter & only when they are side by side. Hope this review helps you with your decision, "Which one should I purchase".
Note: The new 200 lumen TLR-2 G no longer has the 535nm laser according to the Stream light rep & does not have the strobe function in Laser only mode.
