Return policy and reliability - Streamlight TLR-2 HL G Rail Mounted Flashlight with Green Laser

I purchased this in January 2016 to mount on a home defense firearm. Due to the nature of its use, it has been sitting in a drawer for most of the past 5 months and have had less than 30 minutes of actual run time. The light and laser work great, but no longer work simultaneously which is disappointing considering a $325 price tag. I contacted OpticsPlanet's customer service about a refund and was told I would have to depend on the manufacturer warranty regardless of the fact I have barely used the product. A 30 day return period is not long enough to ensure that a product is without defects especially when it is not something used frequently like a weapon light. Also when I initially purchased the item, I paid for expedited shipping and it was shipped through USPS and took nearly 2 weeks. This will be my last purchase on this site due to its poor customer service.

Overall, the product itself may be sufficient; but I would not recommend for any uses where you require reliability which is most situations in which you would need weapon light. Malfunctioning at less than an hour of runtime is unacceptable for a flashlight at this price point. I would hope to have better utility at $325 and not just be a toy. I would also recommend trying somewhere like Amazon with a more forgiving return policy, faster shipping, and the ability to test the item adequately prior to being stuck with it.
