NobleToad's Review of Streamlight TLR-2 IRW Visible White LED and Class I IR Laser w/ Rail Locating Keys For Glock

This rail mounted light offers great flexibility in terms of night time operations where you may be switching between NV goggles and the naked eye during low or no light scenarios. Because most NVGs lack close-up focus to properly distinguish the iron sights of the average pistol, the IR laser offers a quick target acquisition method without compromising stealth or covert position. Streamlight's quality is second to none. I used to have a light-only TLR on my duty pistol while in the Sheriff's office and have since added them to two or three of my concealed carry and home defense sidearms. This is my first IR Streamlight and they seem to have hit a home run in terms of quality and mission adaptability.
Pros:
  • Universal mounting
  • Solidly built
  • Easy, Reliable Access
  • high output light and laser
Cons:
  • pricey, but you get what you pay for
  • slightly larger than typical Streamlight
  • won't work with off the shelf holsters
Best Used for:
  • NV Googles
  • night time scenarios
